maintain Wardle A living streak can be difficult. Every day he guesses the answer only 6 times, and the choice of the first word is the key.
“ADIEU” has been quite popular since the beginning of the game. This makes sense since it contains four vowels. But not everyone immediately wants to know the vowels.

I spent some time most commonly used letters in English wordsWhen Recently, I started Wordle with a one-two punch of “TRAIN” and “CLOSE”. This combo uses all the top 10 characters, leaving a good group of good guesses most of the time, but not always in the right place. That’s Guess 3 to 6.
check this out CNET Tik TokWe recommend starting with ADIEU and inserting STORY. A great one-two punch that covers a lot of commonly used characters. On my first try, I was able to easily retrieve words on my third try using the letter information I got from those guesses.
I asked Josh Wardle, the creator of Wordle, to share his technique, but did not hear back. In the meantime, I asked his CNET staff to share Wordle’s strategies and favorite opening words. Hope it gives you a boost or nudge.

blank stare
My go-to is STARE. A bit inspired by the Wheel of Fortune move that first guesses RSTLNE, with this he also knocks off two vowels. At least this seems to give me something early on in many cases.Eli Blumenthal

use weird words
You can’t play Wordle correctly if you start using the same words every day. That’s my official rule and I’m surprised I use the same words every day. what? use weird words Pick up a dictionary, close your eyes and flick to a random page. Start with YACHT one day and try ULCER the next. Look around the room! toast? why not? just do it! Come on people. Cheat and try the NYT Spelling Bee
I’ve tried using FIRST, MANIC, or CHEAT to start. I don’t know if that speaks more to my frame of mind than my word-solving skills, but this approach almost got him solving in three words. (I had a panic attack the other day!) But while I enjoy Wordle, I have to say I’m still a huge fan. wheel good plan
First, I make sure to do it before my morning coffee. I don’t have a word to rely on because it feels a bit cheesy, but I generally aim for a first word that either has a lot of vowels or the good old wheel of fortune letter RSTLNE. If it works for Pat Sajak’s crew, it’s good enough for me.Andrew Clock
Discussion of ADIEU
I’ve been using ADIEU from day one. Funny thing is, I still misspell it sometimes. Sometimes to shake things up — mostly based on pressure from Jackson Ryan — I try different things. Either way, I don’t know what we’re all arguing about. Someone did an experiment on this.the best The word is ROATE.–Mark Sellers

first word that comes to mind
I’m a high-risk, high-reward Wordle player. Really pick the first word that comes to mind. No strategy at all. Apart from this being Wordling’s purest form (as the experts say), when he’s lucky enough to guess 3 or 4 out of 5 letters correctly, he’s very happy. . —Monisha Lavisetti
Being eco-friendly is not easy
TREAD is the winner, but I like to jumble the first word. That said, I always have some first guess rules: at least he has two vowels. Never use the S (this S guess is useful when you realize you’re incredibly dumb and can only think of four letter guesses. guess at 2
My ultimate goal with Wordle is to guess the word on the second try. For that, I use STEAR as the first word. This provides a solid set of characters in unusual positions. So you can often predict where it will go if it turns yellow. From there, it makes aggressive guesses, even if it’s strategically inadvisable (duplicated letters, few vowels, unlikely letters, etc.). Since starting this strategy, my averages have been about the same, but now I sometimes win by two guesses. So success? –-David Priest
don’t fail
I don’t believe in strategy. Choose the words that resonate most with you in the morning and follow your heart. Starting with tactically effective words is just too easy. What if that fails? It’s just Wordle! (But I’d like to clarify that it never fails, even if there is an X in the word.) —Sarah McDermott
